Sometimes the customer is right…
I was just visiting my lovely (ha!) job at the local supermarket, and I’ve had my fair share of blunders with stupid customers and things within those walls. Today, I got to hear an exchange between a co-worker who will not be named, and a customer who was actually right. The number in the story has been changed to protect the mentally sane.
Worker: Alright, I can look up your card information on the computer if you could tell me your phone number.
Customer: 555-0123.
Worker: I’m sorry, I couldn’t hear you.
Customer: (yelling) 555-0123!
Worker: You don’t have to yell at me, ma’am.
Customer: Well, you could’ve just listened to me.
Worker: Some of us aren’t perfect… what was the number again?
Customer: (sigh) FIVE… got that? FIVE… got that one? FIVE… got it? ZERO… ONE… TWO… THREE.
The funniest part about it all is that the customer was a very elderly lady who I would’ve expected the be the one unable to hear between the two of them.
